I cannot say enough about these good people. They played a big part in my recovery from chemo/radiation for lung cancer. The JOY they project live and in their recorded work is a palpable, living, beautiful behemoth! Brilliant, innovative daredevils, they continue to surprise and enhance my life.
I am of course, the doofus in the white pants with Karen in black between Courtney and Jessica.

Met these gents when our group, EXIT TERRA opened for them at the Space in Hamden Ct. somewhere around 2001.
We used to host them on their tours. Just an amazing group thst deserved much more recognition then they got.
It was a strange time in the music industry. Still... they put out...hard!!!
Though the group is not active, their recorded output is just sooo good!
Do yourself a favor and listen up.

JOHNNY IGUANA

Keep in mind these are my opinions which do not require anyone else's trust or validation, but Ig here, has done more for the piano and keyboards, the Blues, and music in general, than he cares to admit.
1st with Billy O'Neill and Bish as OMG and their permutations, Them Vs. Them, Software Giant, solo as The Synth Strummer, The Claudettes, (3 distinct versions culminating with the current album High Times In The Dark getting ever growing rave reviews alongside Johnny Iguana's Chicago Spectacular which is quickly dominating Blues Playlists everywhere. We miss the pre covid days when the band would stay with us on tour. Hopefully, we will have them back in the near future.
THE CLAUDETTES

Rather than relate the evolutional odyssey of the Claudettes, I direct you to their website where all will be revealed. They are a compelling force in the battle against mediocre, automatic, pop star, boy band, market generated nonsense. While the songwriting hearkens very strongly to "roots" music, they have become something much wider in scope. Good people making great music for intelligent listeners.
WIRE
There are no lack of sites that describe the influence these guys
had on musicians, Lyrically, sonically,...this is the band that was
pushing/tearing apart the envelope back in da day,
They continue to do so still.

Alain Johannes
Alain Johannes, Natasha Schneider, Jack Irons and others were THE band of the 90's for me.
The songwriting skills, intensity, otherworldly vocals, were the closest thing to a Beatles for me.
Sadly, Natasha has left us on this plane with only the memory of her talent.
For me to be influenced by a guitarist at my age in life, is something that was unexpected.
I continue to gain inspiration from his works and always wish for a moment to be able to work with him.
